it's been frusterating to say the least ..
Toyota does NOT have bushings avaliable ..so I have a feeling i'm going to have to make some .. as I cant find a good throttlebody .
fella next door is a x machinest , and has his own , well actually 2 , lethes .. i'm going to ask him if he'll make me some brass bushings .. and give it a try .

CJM, I would start at a local carb shop if one exists in your area . The one I used was all set up and ready to go. The shop drilled out the carb to accept geneic sized bushings then drilled the inside of those to accept the existing throttle shaft.

good plan .. but NO carb builders around here .. Not sure where I would find bushings close to fitting ? any Ideas ? I havent asked my neighbor yet .

Will a TPS from a '90 work on a '88? What's wrong with the TPS that you've got? I thought I needed a new one because I couldn't get it to read within specs at the closed throttle position. When I saw the cost of a new one I thought I should make another effort to see what was wrong with mine. With it off of the throttle body I found that the action was gummed up which prevented it from returning to the fully closed position. I sprayed some electric contact cleaner into it and got it working right away. You'll need to get the calibration specs, some feeler gauges and an ohm meter to set it up properly when you reinstall it. -- Matt
