Will a TPS from a '90 work on a '88?

What's wrong with the TPS that you've got? I thought I needed a new one because I couldn't get it to read within specs at the closed throttle position. When I saw the cost of a new one I thought I should make another effort to see what was wrong with mine. With it off of the throttle body I found that the action was gummed up which prevented it from returning to the fully closed position. I sprayed some electric contact cleaner into it and got it working right away. You'll need to get the calibration specs, some feeler gauges and an ohm meter to set it up properly when you reinstall it. -- Matt
