dear all :
I really need your valuable comment for my Monty. couple question and here is the story.
my battery always mesure high voltage more than 16V. So,I think the voltage regulator of Alternator is gone. already have a new alternator to replace the old one. this is not causing me the problem yet. the current problem is "I can not start my truck". when you turn the key over, just have quick clicking sound no start. if you try couple times, then the battery voltage will drop to 9V. then if I disconnect the battery(-) cable, and reconnect it again. the voltage will go back to 12.6V. I also jump from my Nissan Altima, same thing clicking no start. this happen after I did not close all the doors properly and interior lights cause my battery out of power. I recharge the battery and re connect the battery cables. and turn the key to "on" position for couple hours for dinner. so, when I come back to start the car and just clicking sound and no start.
I search in this forum, and find the following possibile reasons.
1. bad battery cable.
2. bad starter or solenoid.
3. alarm (seems not the problem, I unplug 20A fuse and turn the key to "on" and put the fuse back, still the same.
4. bad battery (seems not the problem, because I jump from my Nissan Altima, and still the same.)
By the way, I just replace spark plugs couple days ago. after replace them, I ty to start my car several time, and it works fine.
can any of you give me a direction ? I will try to verify if the start or solenoid is bad.
thanks in advance.
