Probably can do it in the truck, use a flexible magnet to get into the hole and pull the pin. I did mine w/ the t-case out and it took several hours. Problem in my case was a freshly rebuilt case so the heavy assembly lube formed a suction that held the pin in place. I ended up getting a telescoping magnet (had to grind it down a little to fit into the hole) and slowly worked the pin loose. On a used case, with only gear oil up around the pin, it may come out easier.
