I couldn't find much info using the Search.

As a long-time Trooper / Rodeo owner, I have to admit that I've only seen a handful of these on the road. In fact, I could count the number on one hand if several fingers were missing...

Am I correct in assuming there is no difference to the Trooper? Were they all automatics, or were there Acura 5-speeds?

As with the Honda Passport (Rodeo), the Acura SLX (Trooper) was simply a rebadged Isuzu.

I don't know about 5-speeds, but I doubt it. Manuals were only available in base models as Troopers in that era, doubt if an upscale brand like Acura would offer "base" models.

Body Damage is Cool
Thye were not that popular, but given the sad condition of the Isuzu delaer network these days Acura works on a lot of the SLX and trooper. I've never seen a 5sp Acura, but they may exist. It took me awhile to locate a 95 Trooper LS with a 5spd. Odds are a lot worse on an SLX 5 spd.

A quick search at Cars.com shows that there are only NINE of them listed for sale right now, nationwide - versus 352 Troopers... I guess that makes them 'sort of' rare.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the 1998+ Troopers and SLXs, especially in all-black or all-green, like this one:

Tell me a set of 33" M/Ts and an ARB Winch Bumper wouldn't look great on that! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

As far as transmissions go...
Like noted above, I'm pretty sure that they were all autos -- However, if you really wanted to go to the trouble (and spend the money), you could always install a manual in its place... I'll even bet that the mounting holes for the master cylinder/pedal assembly are already on the firewall, plugged and waiting.

Six Isuzus, so far... still have three of them.

Thanks for the responses. I was thinking that my next Isuzu ownership experience might be one of these, just to be a little "unique". However, as a Manual-trans purist, I guess I'll stay content with the Troop.

I'm also a stigler for crank windows (power windows = more things that can break down), and I HIGHLY suspect something with an Acura badge would not have them.
