I called them and they said to give a week or two and the bearings should quiet down with time, and its common since it was sitting for awhile.

This is what we call a "blow off" and a "red flag". These guys are hoping that a) you go away and b) you get "used" to the noise and live with it until it is at least out of whatever warranty they offered.

If it is not right, take it back to them and demand one that is functional. Bearing noise does not come and go. It only shows up when there is a problem and the there is no way to put the metal back on the bearings once it is worn off. The MUA5 may not be a refined care transmission, but it should not have bearing noise.
