Look at the weight difference between the F-350 and your YJ. It is more a matter of not having enough weight to get the traction to pull the stump than not having the [email]b@lls[/email] to pull it out.
I loaded down a M151 MUTT while in the Army with 50 lb fertilizer bags. I don't remember how many there were, but the rear seat was pulled out and the back end was completely loaded along with the passenger floor board and even a few on top of the seat.
When I got to the drop off point, we were unable to back up to the ramp so I put it in 4-lo and climbed 4 steps to the top of the dock so we could unload.
Little 4 popper with 5 something:1 gearing.
