When purchasing (getting) the amp it should have come with paper work that covered the product and some tech specs that would list the units capabilities.
Just taking a wild guess, but typically when amps are designes there are preconfigued for certain critera. Not saying that this is a steadfast rule of cours, jmho. With the Sony unit it is a 2 ch. unit designed for sub perforamance from the sounds of it. This is not to say that U R unable to solder together a board which would allow U to operate it as a multi ch. amp. If you would like to run it as multi ch. I would recommend that you start with at least a 4 ch. amp with lo and hi band pass filter capabilities.
Just some thoughts.
