Hi gang. It's been a while since I've been on the board, but I'm back seeking advice.

I've had a bunch of vapor locking issues, and after biting the bullet and getting a reman carb, the issue remains. Symptoms mainly include stalling out at altitude (11,000 feet or so) and after stopping for 10-20 minutes, you can get about 2 blocks and it dies, refusing to run until it sits and thinks for a couple of hours.

At this point, it seems adding an electric fuel pump might be a good option. After searching up and down the forum and the archive, I haven't gotten a good picture of the best way to do this. I figure I will keep the existing pump and just put the electric inline.

First, is this something that is safe? It sounds like others have done this.

Second, does anyone have any advice on wiring it? I've considered wiring it up with a toggle switch so I can kick it on when I want, but I'm seeking some advice on this.

Third, can anyone provide recommendations for specs or even brand of pump I should be looking at? Will a regulator be needed?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I ended up buying a lifted Liberty last year, and the Raider and Libby would make great off-road companions (very similar trail capabilities), but with this fuel issue, I am not at all confident taking the ol' Raider out.

Thanks in advance!
