As a matter of fact you can fit 33/12.50r15 also
just tweek the torsion bars and add a coil spring spacer to the rear

Thats what i thought he was telling me the tires were too aggressive that it would never work. I am ready to go back and tell him just mount the damn things and then tell him told ya they would fit. Just wanted to make shure before I made an ass of my-self

Yep, you can run 33x12.5's on a stock Gen I (no lift) with only minor modifications to the front bumper end-caps (trimming) and after bending the splash shields slightly (forward end of the front wheelwells - can be done by hand in a few seconds). I have a 2" body lift and a 2" suspension lift and I could fit 39s if I wanted to.

EDIT: Out of curiousity, I just went out in the garage and measured. I conceivably could fit 39s but I'd have to pound out one small part of the bottom/front of the rear wheelwells. I could fit 37s with room to spare no problem.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna do it, though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'd rather not snap my axles. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" />

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I went to four wheel parts about a year and a half ago looking to buy Interco Trxus MT tires along with wheels. The guys there were a bunch of morons. They told me I could barely squeeze 31's on my 94 SR. The employees were telling me this while standing right next to the vehicle. I then looked down at my tires and said these are 31 inch tires and it is the stock size. There reply was, well you will never fit 33's on there but there is a convention going on where they could give me something for "a really good price". I said thanks and left. I had cash in hand told them what I wanted and I was going to buy them that day.

From what I got from them, if you have a toy or jeep they will help you if not it is better to go other places. They are really overpriced for the items they quoted me on. I think you would be better off going any where but there. I have gotten to the point when I am going to spend hard earned money on something, if the people in the store are jerks, then i take my money else where. There are a lot of good tires out there, I would get them from some one else.

I ended up getting my 33x1250 BFG M/T Mounted and balanced on aftermarket wheels at Costco for a lot less money. The guys were friendly and had no issues.

Yeah, I have gotten that same type of attitude from 4 Wheel Parts and another local 4X4 shop. If it isn't something more mainstream they don't really want your business.

The shop I usually go to, however, has been more than eager to help me out and make the experience so that I just want to keep coming back for more. That shop is High Country Performance 4X4 in Englewood, CO. They're a great bunch of guys and are always glad to help. Sometimes they can be a little pricey (compared to DIY, that is), but they're good at what they do and "no" isn't in they're vocabulary.

For tires, though, I always go to Discount Tire.

we pretty much use 4wheel parts as the overall index of how much we should NOT pay for something.....if 4wheel parts wants $100 for a jack then we can probably get it for $80 somewhere else....the guys in the shop seem friendly to my girl and her toyota.....but when i mentioned dodge raider they got all goofy and started to say stuff that they did not know anything about....

it was quite funny really... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
