If you look at it the way I did when I first was considering what to replace my 2.6 with, one side of a 5.0 is a straight 4 2.5l. A buddy of mine who helped me with the conversion had a F150 4x4 with a 351 and a stick in it with a creeper gear. In low 4x4 and in 1st gear at an idle he could get out and walk beside the truck. A stick could be a good option but since my Raider was an automatic already I just stuck with an auto
