Need a Spot

The engine is actually from a '42 Jeep. I need to find out why it's burning a lot of oil(blue smoke out of the exhaust). I'm hoping it's just the rings or head gasket and not a cracked block or head. I'm going to replace the gasket, rings, and get the head checked for cracks. Hopefully that will solve it! Any ideas?
