Over the past few week I have been having some trouble with my starter, I would go to start it and just get click-click. and then after a bit it would turn over and start right up. well finally the other day it just went click-click and wouldn't start (and of course I was far from home fishing!) well i took the starter out and had it tested at advanced auto. It tested fine but I was told it was putting out way to many amps (close to 175), so i double checked all my connections and battery and that all seems fine. I looked at the starter contacts and they are in good condition also.(this is a Napa starter that is less than a year old) I had a friend try turn the key while I listened the the solenoid and you can hear it fine. I unplugged it and theres nothing and when I plug it back in you can hear it working. so I sucked it up and bought a new one and still have the same problem. So I will be returning the one I bought today and trying to trace down my problem at school tomorrow, has anyone had similer problems or have a idea where to start?
