Chris, I have considered this mod as well. I might do it when my Montero is a dedicated trail rig.

The thing I'm concerned about is dropping the CV at such an angle while under power. I'm a big fan of keeping the CV at a reasonable angle.

If you do decide to flip the BJs, throw out the exhisting bolts and replace them with grade 8 hardened bolts. When the ball joint is flipped it puts a bunch of added stress on the bolts.
