So I'm helping a friend of a friend trouble shoot an engine problem on a 91 4runner with a 22re. It seems the previous owner powerwashed the engine bay just before putting it up for sale, which may or may not have something to do with the problem: The engine is slow getting up to speed and at about 4000 rpm falls flat on its face. TPS seems to check out, though not difinitively, the AFM is sealed, Cat converter is OK, and no apparent vacuum leaks. Got any suggestions?
