Body Damage is Cool
i disagree w/ that

i suppose it could actually be like the 96-97 rear axle which is slightly wider. w/ a matching widthe 96-97 front IFS.....would make sense.

so basically it is the same as a 1996-7 RS (if there was such a thing in the US) w/ a 98+ drivetrain.

[splitting hairs]

No hairs here - just tryin' to lay out the facts for future reference...

You have 3 different widths of HD Tie Rod Centers... My VX took the longest ones you've got.

Additionally, I just installed a set of brand new OEM Upper & Lower Ball Joints... The same exact ones that go on the 1998+ Trooper (the Lowers being the 'long' variety -- the extra width up top is built into the actual UCA itself, so it uses the same Upper Ball Joint either way).

*** The thing is, I *believe* the Trooper front suspension remained the same from about 1995-on, once they started using the fender flares & 'wide-track' front suspension.

What I do know, as far as ordering part numbers...

The VehiCROSS' front suspension is the 1998+ Trooper's... 100%.
The REAR is the older, non-modified 12-bolt from the earlier 1996-97 Trooper.

They used a whole lot of off-the-shelf parts, mixed-and-matched...
Heck, the dashboard is from the 1996-97 RODEO <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
