I t seams that Lloyed has made 33" tires, sliders and a locker mandatory on his trip. I may not get all that done in time. I guess I'll go with someone else.

From what my Jeep buddies say, I can make it with a little help. A tug here and there. People are taking stock Wranglers with 31" tires through it with minimal issues.

I thought about that. They might just want to see my Japanese mobile smashed all over the rocks. I really dont care about some damage. It boils down to whether I'm holding up the team. So I cant honestly blame him for wanting folks to be more prepaired. I'll probably get it all those mods done.

Even if dont, I'm still going to do it. I think it would say something about my skills if I got through the trial with a stock open diffed LS.

Well, the 33s for your wheelbase truck are kind of necessary at the CON to minimize draging on rocks.
The Sliders are defenitely a MUST for your own sake, whitout them you will smash your side panels pretty good.
The locker will minimize the need to be tag in many obtacles.
I'll say what Lloyd has mention it's pretty reasonable for minimizing body damage, but then again anything is possible
If you can't get a rear locker, atleast try to get 33s and sliders

Good news, tucson diff shop will have my SR ready with my newly installed t-case gears. they said it was easy and everything fit perfect, no milling required, I guess I got lucky. the only thing they had to grind was that little knobby thing on the inside of the case to make room for the bigger low speed gear

my sliderz will be arriving next week or so for it. now all I have to do is get pumping some air to my already installed front locker and I am going to be getting excited for august

I'm following this thread...
Am definitely interested in a long trip thru the Sierras.
I've got 33s and a rear locker and am working on the sliders -- they just arrived today via UPS...
All I know is that I've got to be down at Pismo by 8/31 (Memorial Day weekend of course).
I'll be watching...
