Supposedly you get the best signal as far away from the cab as possible. So on either bumper or on the bedrail, or on top of the cab. I welded a tab to the top of my bedrail near the tailight.

I was told by the CB shop that the best place was in the middle of the top, so that is where I mounted mine.
