Did you reset the ECU? If not, you'll probably need to disconnect the battery fer about 30 min or so. That should allow the ECU to relearn the system again... Did that when I did the 02s.

You got air in them new tires?
To hell with the numbers on the b-pillar, they always seem way too low. I tried upping the pressure in the past, but it messes with the ABS. Sets it off easily on roads where there are bumps or ripples coming up to stop signs. Scared me good a few times. Didn't seem that I could stop where I wanted to.

I like diesel's as much as anyone (my daily driver is an F-450 with the 6.0 Powerstroke) and try to forget how many times we have to stop for gas.
We have a 350 Ford in the fleet. The assigned driver has only put on about 15K miles in 2 years so it sits a lot and there is a lot of moisture up here. The turbo quit working right. Turns out the blades rusted and would not turn properly. You would think something that critical would be stainless and not plain steel. Poor engineering.

Snapper, Yes the 265/75R16s have an Outside Diameter of 31.6" - 31.8" depending on manufacturer versus ~30.6" OD using 265/70R16s so that's an error of 3.2% @ 31.6". So your odometer will read 3.2% low at least and fuel economy numbers will be off/under by the same amount. Just reading this thread improved your fuel economy by about a 1/2 mile per gallon. Brew

I think you have a deeper underlying problem if the ABS goes off like that.. Get it checked out..

I brought it in to the dealer. The mechanics were stumped until one of the veterans came over and checked my pressure. Turns out the mechanic that did the service pumped the tires up to 40psi. After the pressure was dropped, all was fine.

Very, very odd...
You sure you have enough fluid and the lines, rotors, calipers and drums are ok?
After I bled my system it got SOOO much better..

After I bled my system it got SOOO much better.. Everything's good with the brakes. The rears were done last spring after the bearings/seals. Calipers are fine. New pads in OCT. 2 weeks ago I got my new Motive power bleeder. Of course I bled the whole system down! Fresh fluid throughout. Anyway, at 34 psi, the system works fine, just like on my '03. The ride really starts to suffer with the pressure any higher. I'm on the road alot.

Could be your tires, could be something else.. Running 15" SR5 wheels and 31x10.5x15 hankook AT tires I cannot get my ABS to go on unless I really get on it.
Just a note about power bleeders, I bought one and tried it, several times and the brakes just didnt feel right. I did the old fashioned 2 man way and I was much happier.
One other thing, your load sensing proportionate valve could be bad or modified, it sense a load and voila ABS kicks in like you have now.
