yep, since i found the new truck and replaced the motor, i've been finding things that need fixing or replacing. it seems that the last owner never replaced the factory shocks, at all. so when i get my lift springs in, i think i'll be replacing the shocks and struts at the same time. granted it may take a little more time, but it's more for the sake of not tearing up my tires. apparently, lennyburger has stumbled upon a good idea with the longer shocks from the RAV4(if it was someone else, sorry, i have a bad memory.) anyway, the RAV4 shocks are longer than the stock sporty shocks by a little more than one inch, so this should work well with a 2 inch lift. so, if anyone else does infact do this type of lift, just go to the partstore and get RAV4 rear shocks. they are designed the same way as the sportage rear shocks and bolt up the same way. just an idea, but i'm going to try it. later, turtle.

95 sportage, gone and severly missed.
94 camaro 5-speed v6 with a few addons.
girlfriends 93 s-10 4.3 soon to be lifted and made into a pre-runner

Would it be okay to use these shocks with the 'upyourkia' spacers?

Body Damage is Cool
Correct me if I am wrong, but the RAV 4's according to the post have 100 mm longer travel than the stock kia's? That computes not to 1" more travel but 3.9371" more travel. Sounds like a bit much. Just my 2 cents worth.

i remaesured the difference between stock and rav 4 shocks everet and there is 87mm difference in full extended length and yep they would work with spacers and stock springs but not with stock springs by themselves as the springs fall out .......found out the hard way.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />

in my belief of things if u can get the back to flex its better to have because the front just goes where its told....these shocks allow for heaps of flex.....

Thats still 3.4252 inches longer than stock, still sounds like its too long for a 2" suspension lift, but maybe a 2.5" to 3" they would work. But once again, just my 2 cents. Let me know how they work out.
