Not in my book, I would rather take them apart to make sure there are no cracks then have to change one out on the trail. That is just my opinion!!!!

better to take the time while you already have the axle torn apart now and inspect everything. i run Longfields and know i probably won't break them but i still tear them apart whenever i have the axle torn down for bearing or seal replacement.
