Oh yeah.. on it.

Basically from the time we hit Fruita, UT (not to be confused with the Isuzu parts center in CO) we will be back country roads. Notem-Bullfrog trail that is n the vally of the Waterfold and Henry Mountains, down into HITR, and up near Nat Bridges, the Elk Ridge Road (north/south), into Beef Basin and joining up with Bobby's Hole which meets up with EH.

The only issue is actually meeting up with the folks that I planned to rendezvous with that are coming down from Moab.

We will continue to plan and see where it takes us. Because for them to come down and around from Blanding to meet us would be a LONG day.

That's interesting Jeff as the map appears to make it longer by going on Cottonwood. :shrug: I saw them both and the Elk Ridge looked shorter. unless something exists that adds difficulty, but I would imagine most of those routes are simply scenic dirt roads. I need to hit the library for some additional research materials.

* Cottonwood Wash Trail to Blue Mountain=24.4 miles 2 on a 10 scale rating so figure a 30mph avg./drive time=49 min.
* Blue Mountain Trail (2/10 rated) to Cottonwood Canyon Trail=2.7 miles/driving time=6 min or two blinks of an eye.
* Cottonwood Canyon Trail (2/10 rated) to Beef Basin Trail=5.6 miles/drive time=11 min.
* Beef Basin Trail (3/10 rated) to BobbyÆs Hole=8.7 miles/Drive Time=18 min.
* BobbyÆs Hole Trail (7/10 rated) to Elephant Hill=16.3 miles/drive time=2hrs 30 minutes.
Grand total 57.7 miles & 3hrs 54 minutesàgive or take a few seconds.

Backcountry Adventures of Utah by Peter Massey & Jeanne Wilson. Oddly enough two of the members of my other club just ran into them three weeks ago on that exact route. Go figure

If we ran HITR the length, then back to the Rincon Trail to camp, left the next morning say 0800 hrs (shouldn't be an issue being that there isn't a McD's within 200 miles) we'll be off of HITR by 1400hrs. We would make Elephant Hill by night fall. We could run Elephant hill and hike on Tuesday, then camp out there, then run Lockhart into Moab on Wednesday. Gotta love a plan ah?!

For the love of all that is good, park at Cheese Camp and take a short-ish walk West until your hat floats. Please, man! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
