Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
Hello again, Now that I have passed smog with my 1989 Toyota 4runner (first generation ) I would like some advice on a small lift kit for my 4 runner. My Toyota 4Runner has the v6 and I am running 31" BFG tires that are brand new . I would like to raise the truck a little but not so much that the 31" tires look too small, any suggestions ?

This is just for looks? Or performance? Are you concerned about ride quality? How much lift? 1" 2" 3"?

I have to admit it's just for looks.I am thinking anywhere from 1 - 3" . The ride quality is not that important.

Cheapest and easiest way would be to simply crank your torsion bars up for 1 or 2" of front lift, and get some 2" or 3" longer than stock shackles for the rear. (for every inch over stock shackle length gets you half an inch of lift)
It will ride a little rougher in the front though. Some better shocks will help out. Try it and see how you like the front end with the t-bars cranked. If you don't like it, your not out any money. There are other options available.
