You're not gonna like this much at all.

Groups like the Sierra Club, SUWA, etc. lurk sites such as ours looking for things just like this as evidence that OHVs need to be shut down. Things like trucks climbing sheer hillsides just below a tree (which will fall down in short order), digging deep ruts in unstable hillsides, that sort of thing. Not even close to TreadLightly.

I've been in forest service meetings where things like this are presented. Not much I can say in defense.

Just sayin'.

OK, let me be more forthright.

It's not about the "tree hugger nazis" ruling the world. It's about what the trail will look like even ONE year from now, it's about how many months those trees will even be standing, it's about making things pukey ugly instead of caring for the places we love.

Not to mention, even being able to wheel that area ten, five, even one year from now due to the damage. A little environmental intelligence is called for.

No it is not cool. No it is not acceptable fun. And yes we all need to change the way we think about it whether anyone from the green side slaps us or not. You are destroying my chosen form of backcountry recreation, you are stepping on ME, for an hour's worth of fun.

I turn in people who do this sort of thing. Call me a nazi and I will thank you. We are losing hundreds of trail miles every year because of this sort of thing, and we deserve to lose them due to the damage. Time to stop it.

Well written. Speak your mind and do not worry about starting anything. These are our trails to run and when they are gone, they are gone. I rode MC dirt bikes for years and watched some of the best trails in California get closed. I carry my camera in my rig all the time and when I see something going on I snap pictures then I talk to the persons. I have only been threaten once with bodily harm e and the person backed down real fast when a 6Æ10ö friend walked up (I am 5'5") and asked ôwhat is the problem hereö. Remember, these are the trails we want to stay open. Call me a Nazi, I do not care. I have been known to hug a tree or two!!!!
