ok i see your point about those gung ho tree huggin people using it as evidence but those were natural washouts that would, in time wash out anyways. we were the first people in trucks to go down and up that hill paving the way to a very nice clean campsite for us in the future. if you notice those trees were already long gone.... im totally for preservation and all that stuff but, people have been riding here for years, its a private owned piece of land that the local law enforcement even polices to make sure nobody is stuck and needs help. most of them ride 4 wheelers out there anyways, if you ask me the 4 wheel atv's are the real problem... they are the ones who always go off trails and cust their own, they were probabally the ones who made that trail wash out in the first place, its erosion and i saw several areas where the water naturally cuts through the soft sugar sand and leaves a nice washout before any atv , bike or 4x4 ever treads on it. we always clean up any trash we find on a trail and we ride responsibly, we have been givin written permission by the land owner to ride there so too bad for those people who want to stop us, its a free country too bad freedom is just a word.... all in all i do understand what your saying and agree for the most part, its been going on for years, i see it as the land was put here to use , why not use it.....? as for pirate 4x4 i wouldnt give that bbs the time of day, i usually just post here because everybody is much more mature and we mannored.

thanks for looking if you want ill remove the vids...

i happen to agree with Bill and David on this one. in addition to being an off roader, im a hiker, a kayaker, a mountain biker, fisherman and hunter. when im enjoying these sports, nothing ticks me off more than seeing a torn up trail, or a run down looking clearing in the woods, trucks parked with stereos blaring and beer cans everywhere. most of the other people on this board are the same way, from what i read anyways. im a horticulturist and landscaper, i spend alot of time repairing vehicle damage to turf and natural areas ive spent alot of time working to keep natural looking and atractive.

look at it this way: this and other outdoor activities are a form of recreation, a sport to the rest of us. not a necessity. left wing enviromentalist groups look at this as a cause, some of them dedicate their entire lives to it. they are willing to take the issue much, much farther than most off roaders, and if they had their way, theyd build a wall around all the natural areas left and keep EVERYONE out. they LOOK for reasons to keep ANYONE off the trails. im not saying they are right either. but theyre the ones who use the press to cast us in a bad light. maybe they dont have a right to make a huge stink about some of the things they do, but the reality is that they do, and its up to us to be responsible, do the right thing and not give them a reason. maybe im off target, but as a person who spends alot more time outdoors than in, you HAVE to act responsibly if you wanna have your cake and eat it too.

just my penny and a half, Jeff

if the whole point is to preserve the land then im completly for it... these videos are from an area that was an old mining pit that was shut down in the late 50's. ever since then the land has been riddin on. believe nothing pisses me off more than to see blaring radio's , beercans strown about and a bunch of torn up trees and such. especially in an area like moab , the rubicon and locally in the ocala national forrest. this area is leased by several local clubs including fatt shack (fla association of toyota trucks) and many other groups. this land has been designated and an area that will soon be turned into another large subdivision where it will all be destroyed anyways. like i said this land is designated for these purposes and withing 2 years will most likly be shut down because bulldozers will be filling in and making way for 1000's of new homes . if i was in an area that was federaly governed or used by many people who hike kayak and whatever else people do in the woods i gaurantee i wouldnt be riding like that. i see your point about it "making a bad name for us" and it being an easy target but before one ASSumes that we are "awful beer drinking, trail killing , redneck sumb$#@es they should look around at their neighbors who work for construction companies and site development ect. ect. basicly what im saying is its inevitable.... i do appreciate what you all stand for believe me i do.... my fiance is an intern with the florida fish and wildlife commission.. she also rides with us..

like i said, not that the enviromentalists are completely right, but when they see a video like you posted, they really dont care about your reasoning behind it. trust me, i know. they take it to the level where their perception turns into our reality at public land use meetings. and theres nothing we can say. no offence, but to me its about the image that protrays, no matter whether or not its a pristine wildlife preserve or a commercial subdivision. and i wholeheartedly agree with the contractors/developers statement. part of the reason im lookin for a new job is the large amount of work the company i work for has been doing with contractor associations and developers in this state lately....and my boss claims to be a preservationist, until it comes to money. friggin hypocrites.

right on man, i know what you mean about the image it portrays, the videos make it seem a little worse than it is with the music an all.the camera is a bit decieving, it looks like alot more damage is being done but if you look at the picture the " damage " if thats what they wanna call it was already done naturally by the creek above overflowing its bed and washing out .. the 4 wheelers just widened it and we simply followed... its cool if you dont like it here i wont post any more videos im sorry for pissing the off the wheeling gods or whatever...

I am glad you stated that wasPRIVATE LAND not nessacarily any thing to be protected and shut down, just vacant land . I didnt think you would be so bold as to do that in a national park or something. Not everybody should have to cow down to the environmental extremist ( or there tall friends).you were using your truck for what you built it for .It seems some folks just cant keep from trying to push thier opinion (not fact) on others so its good that we live in a somewhat free nation. There was no harm having fun on old vacant mine or paper mill land etc...I dont want to live always afraid of what some extremist might think of me or my action. With that said I do agree the guy in the bed of that truck was foolish after all we do have seat belt laws. and I dont think much of pirate 4x4 place either.

you screwball!!!

i think the dude got pissy cuz the other dude called him a tree hugger. i know what dude means about people searching for stuff to stop us but the bottom line is they can try all they wants, if they were to shut every trail down in the world i will still wheel on them... once again it all comes back to a difference of opinion, i can agree to disagree . i will also agree about high horse's and them being stood on in this thread. i tend to ride a tall horse too so im at no liberty say anything further on that. now screw you guys im going home!

Roll Me Over
OK it is cool that it is private land, an old mine and you have permission to wheel there. That is not the point, the point is you posted videos that show you tearing up the land. Extremist do not care, they take the vids and pictures and use it for their cause not saying that it was private land. That is why it is not cool to post on public BBÆs. Do you see where I am coming from?

are you guys for real? what could have possibly happened to me in the back of the truck? Or would you rather I jumped and rolled down the hill??

Whatever, I have a friendÆs son who jumped into his rig to move it five feet at night, what can happen moving it five feet right. Well he is pushing up daisies at a local cemetery. What happened you ask, his rig was a Toyota PU with the top cut off, well-made cage. I am only moving five feet no need for a seat belt. Four feet in front of him was a drop of about four feet, when his front end went off it the rig endoed and launched him out the cage over the windshield. He hit the ground and the truck rolled over him. The well-made cage crushed him dead on the spot in front of his wife and kids. That is what can happen.

Just because you are young, dumb, and full of cum does not mean it cannot happen to you. None of us is infallible as much as we want to think we are. I am sixty two years old and still do stupid stuff, not as much as I use to but every once in a while I do, especially when I am on my motorcycles!!!!
