I know I'm not the tallest guy around, but every time I try to get in any car I hit my head and break my back to sit down. I decided I will never own a car (unless its a 69 Vette conv. 454 4 spd.). My brother and my mom both have sports cars, and I refuse to ride. I just hate those little things. It's like a big go-cart.

I've owned about 15 "sports cars" including 3 corvettes, supras, mustangs, a porsche and a few drag cars. Of course I miss those cars but the runner is a completely different kind of vehicle. Its very hard to compare. There are benefits to both. Of course if we were all rich like Jason, we would have an s2000 AND a 4runner, but since I am not, I am stuck dreaming.
You cant go wrong either way as the runner is about the "sportiest" of the suv's out there with the body lines and look it has.

I wouldn't ever regret buying the 4runner that I have now. It sure does beat the smell of exhaust fumes, poor poor poor gas mileage, & loud exhaust(b\c of two chambered flowmasters) I did though like the 375hp modded beast of a 89 mustang that I had though But I do find the runner to be much much more reliable If I had to do it again, I'd get another 4runner

I went from a v8 Capri (tires lasted 10k) to a turbo Daytona (fun) to a Jeep J20 (fun, nasty rusted out hulk of a surf vehicle, 12mpg downhill with a tailwind) to a Volvo 850 turbo wagon (mustang eater).

The only functional vehicle was the Volvo. Got rid of it because I couldn't keep my foot out of it, amazing car. The runner saved me a bunch in insurance, and I can haul stuff with it.

I wish I had gotten a runner earlier, I looked at one in 87 but the dealer tried to screw me over at signing (one day the vehicle was "priced as shown", the next day they said the larger tires and rims weren't included, so I walked).

Body Damage is Cool
My previous car was a Camaro. Before that a Mazda Rx7. Do I miss the sports car? Sometimes, but with all the traffic here, I can't really use a fast car. 4Runners are big, slow and don't corner, but I'm happy. As long as it'll go 75mph comfortably, I'll cruise. Having a vehicle like this makes you much more laid back. I ignore the stop light racers. I'm thinking I need a huge bumper to smush people who cut in front of me though.

It was chipped, had something like 240hp. I was sitting at a stoplight one night, some kid in a rustang was revving his engine, trying to get the attention of our nanny, who was copilor (and who is rather cute). The light turned green, the only thing our little friend saw was the back of the yellow wagon.

It had to suck to get dusted by a vehicle with a carseat in it.

ChiefJoJo, the S/C has been awesome and very reliable. The total cost including installation was about $2500...well worth it...
