My souloution was to stay in a truck because of the height, yet not give up on power and handling. the answer was my '99 SVT Lightning. However, I would have never gotten into wheeling if I hadn't bought the Lightning. I started taking such good care of it and keeping it in the garage so often that I decided to buy my '86 Runner for a daily driver. Subsiquently, my SO bought a '98 Runner Ltd. I've gotten into the Yotas so much that I'm thinking of getting rid of the "L" so that I can afford mods for the Runners! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

ChiefJoJo: I own both a 4-Runner and a Porsche 911. The 4-Runner is my daily driver because it is more reliable, more comfortable, and has a higher sitting position that allows me to see and avoid all of the idiot drivers we have on the roads in Memphis. Also, the Runner's larger inside volume allows for bigger subwoofers and mthus more bass......

I had a 89 5.0 mustang, fun, comfortable, cheep to mod, ford relability(none), My last domestic. Had a 93 eagle talon awd with moderate mods, a blast to drive no problems over 7 years, i love that car. My Y2K runner, slow, comfortable, tons of room, uses more gas but its not premium (10 cents a litre extra up here). Thought about s/c but can't justfiy the extra fuel costs. Dont dispare there is hope in the form of a 69 stingray roadster in the in-laws garage that need some tlc, and my SO loves the audi S4.

I drove a 92 Anniversary Edition z-28 with the 35o tpi before I got my Runner. Yeah its a big change, and I miss the Camaro, it was cherry, But the 4 Runner is more practical, and not scraping over speedbumps is a sweet plus. Besides, with enough money and time you can get the Runner to keep up with most stock sportys on the road.
