I'm starting to do the research / parts list for a propane conversion on the 2.6. Has anyone done this before? I'm not turning up anything in my searches for practical experience on the subject. I can apply what I've found for universal knowledge, but it's always nice to see where someone else has had successes and made mistakes, to save time and money.

If not, would there be interest in me doing a pictoral/write up on it as I progress?

Check gotpropane.com I think it is. Im sure he doesnt have a Mitsu kit, but you can probably find some info. Also check on Pirate, there are some Toyotas and others running it. you will find a lot of info there.

Thanks for the pointers. I looked at pirate earlier, there was no Mitsubishi section (as well as no search function) so I didn't stay long. I'll have to take a harder look.

Considering there's no kit out there, I think I'm going to source my parts out a part at a time based on the research I'm doing. Parts gathering alone might be an all summer-winter project, but you've got to start someplace I guess.

In the mean time, I've got plenty of work to do reclaiming this truck from the elements. The previous owner was not nice to it, at all. Going to do some body patch up once I get my welder in a few months, and then just do a ghetto paint/rhino liner combo paint job, then work on some skid plates/rocker guards. Lots of tinkering potential <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Pirate is a hardcore rock crawling site. It is not for everyone. Yes there are a few hard wheeling Mitsus, this site is just fine for Mitsu owners. You have to have a red star to search or use google and search type in pirate4x4 after the words you want to search for.

Couple of questions.

What kind of milage could you get with propane on a daily driver, would it be practical and could it be used with a turbocharger?

Or is propane just best suited for trailered OHU rigs?
