Clark used the mitsubishi 2.6(propane powered) engine in there forklifts about a month ago there was propane carb for the 2.6 on there along with some other parts. I knew saving the model numbers of the forklifts may come in handy to some one here you go find you local clark forklift dealer

Interesting- I have a friend who drives a propane conversion truck. He gets 11mpg on propane and 14mpg on gasoline. I think his is a dual fuel- runs on either one, switchable on the fly.
Where were you thinking of putting the tank?

I was going to mount a pair of them, laid on their side one on top of the other, behind the rear seat (if I keep it), or just lay 2 on the floor flat if I don't. I am going to probably start with a single tank but look for another as I go, just because I've heard headaches about running out of gas. I intend to drive this to work still on bad weather days in the winter, as I live in the snowy boonies and there's really no way out other than a 4x4 or snowmobile some days.

The Clark stuff is interesting... I think I need to make some calls to some forklift places, see if I can't scrounge some used parts (or a complete system). This is some great information, I'm damn glad I joined up

Looks like Mitsubishi put propane 2.6's in their rigs too:

Here's a clark with a familiar looking valve cover as well:

Now I just have to find a parts dealer that might have some scavaged / recycled / unused parts laying around for these.

the clark isn't the 2.6 see how the spark plugs are paired that is most likly the 2.4 in the clark. The mitsu fork lift for sure has the 2.6.

Had a '88 D50 w/2.6 & was running on natural gas .The former owner before me had it removed, don't know why though ?It did have a certified sticker under the hood saying"THIS ENGINE HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO ACCEPT NATURAL GAS". So I think what this means is that the valves & seats were changed to accept the burning of natural gas ,I think this goes for propane also?

What valves are you talking about, in the head?

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Good eye! Either way, I think next week I'm going to be making some trips to forklift parts dealers and recyclers.

Well here in CANADA eh,most of the RAM D50's did't have the JET VALVES.If your asking intake or exhaust, I would expect it would be the exhaust,or maybe both .
