Good point, I just changed the oil not to long ago. I put in a 10w30. I may try a 10w-40 next time. I don't mean to sound like a dumbass in this question, but I bought the truck from my dad and I don't drive it everyday because I have a work truck. Which really sucks because I really like to drive the truck. The sticker in the window from when my dad owned said 10w-30 so that is what I got.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't developing a possible problem. The truck runs great, has no leaks, and the oil level on the dipstick is right on. Thanks for the input guys.


I find the same thing on my 22RE. If I run at least a xxW40 weight oil, the idle pressure stays up in the normal range. If I run xxW30 it'll drop below the marked range on the gauge when the engine is hot. So I usually run a 15W40 or 20W50 oil year round.
