It does not take much gas for it to smell. Some possible leak locations are the fuel injectors where they attach to the fuel rail upper and manifold lower. There are O-ring seals at each of thes locations. If they are original may be worth replacing them. Seal kit is about $6 per injector.
Aslo there is a rubber section of fuel hose running from the fuel pressure regulator on the return side across the engine to the hard metal return line. This rubber line may be seeping?
You don't have to have a dripping or pooling leak to get the smell. It may be evaporating nearly as fast as it is leaking if it is a slow leak.

The fuel injectors can leak out the injector orfice, but I don't think you would smell it during idle.
