Howdy all,

I am down to just the fuel cutoff/shutoff solenoid left on the original wiring harness. Everything else has been absorbed back into the jeep wiring harness. My question is, does the solenoid take a straight 12 volts? I threw a voltemeter on mine, and it reads 11.11 volts, but what I'm concerned about is the amps. I don't know if there's a current limiting resister built into the engine control module or not. Can I just wire in a switch with battery 12v on one side and the solenoid on the other?

Related question--has anybody ever switched their cutoff solenoid over to a manual (non-electrical) shutoff? Sort of like a manual choke.....
