well i was looking at 2wd pickups for the past few months to replace my rear ended car and i came across this one.

it says it has 44,000 miles which is unbelievable. the guy hasnt emailed me back yet to confirm that they are original miles or just on the engine, but hopefully theyre original. but what i was wondering is why the radiator, starter were replaced w/ such low mileage.

Do you think it's worth $3500? the kbb is around 2 grand, but the nada is right around 3000, and 3700 in excellent condition, which i believe this truck is.

i wish it was a 22re, but oh well. what kind of mileage are you 2wd guys getting? close to 30 i'm hoping.

i'm still debating to fix my integra gsr or buy this so its kind of a hard decision. although if i do buy the truck, i can part out the car and make at least $2 grand which is a plus, not to mention lower insurance rates.

when mine was stock (it was a 2wd auto) I would get around 25mpg highway, I believe.
Personally, I think he's asking too much, even with so little miles.

Technically I'd say yes its worth it, as it was probably over $11K 44,000 miles ago. But, then again 2wd's in NH aren't worth ***** as they're basically useless. And you could get something a LOT cooler and nicer and better on gas than a '89 2wheel peel toyota for that money.

except for the engine in it .. I'd say go for it ..

No way the 44k is the totsl miles, around here I call it "Liars List". The most recent item I went to look at was "totally rebuilt 22r with only 400 miles". He fired it up and I swear the pistons were all hitting the valves! He says "yeh they all sound like that", so I walked him over to listen to mine with 211k on it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />. Before that it was a twin mattress that was "just like new", yeah except for the big tear in the corner. And then there was the Sears Gamefisher 1.75 hp in "new" condition that had the aircleaner broken off and 1/4" of dried gas gunk coating everything - which he then demonstrated it's New Condition by spraying starter fluid in it and then pulling on the starter rope for the next 20 minutes. I thinks its a great place to look for your stuff that's been stolen though!

I personally don't think it's worth anywhere near that. You can buy a single cab 4x4 for less than that...yes it will have 100K-120K on it but it not just the miles that count. With 44K on it (assuming all original) that thing has spent an awful long time just sitting around, and most likely all short trips when it actually was driven. Short trips are bad for engines and sitting unused not too good either. Parts that don't move rust as they sit and rubber seals and other bits bits dry rot...hence all the new parts...I'm sure there are more new parts needed.

I think you can get a much newer 2wd for that kind of cash with not too many more miles. Get one with the RE, more pep and I think they get better mileage.

Just my opinion though....

the thing is im not interested in another 4x4. i want a reliable vehicle to drive back and forth 45 miles to school everyday. and i think there is nothing more reliable than a toyota pickup w/ 44k on it. the guy just emailed me back and said this.

first thing i would do is take off those ugly sunvisors, probably take off the front push bar, and then get some street tires for it. it looks like he wanted to make it look like a 4x4 haha. i would most likely find a stock rear bumper for it and sell that one also.

but the truck is immaculate, im still debating how much i would pay for it. i'm going to test drive it before i make my decision, but i think i would pay at the max $3000 for it. he has had it listed for almost a month, so i think he'll probably take it. but i'm going to offer im $2500 first though lol.

Theres no doubt that its a beautiful truck and I'm sure those are the original miles. Its just I think you could get something much more comfortable and better on gas for that money. But I must say it is cool to have a bigass 4x4 parked next to a little mexican 2wd both with the same motor <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
