Body Damage is Cool
So, warm weather = hot Pajero. AC compressor runs fine, but barely cools below ambient. I bought a hose kit and one 6oz can of Duracool. My Pajero does not have the rear AC.

Anyone done the recharge and have any tips?

No one done this yet? I think Phil did last summer.

It's getting warm out...

Sorry Ed, been super busy last few weeks, with no end in sight till end of June... you know how it is

I had my ac system topped up with said stuff last summer - its been awesome. Many imports I've seen come in have had empty systems that worked when topped up - kinda makes you think, doesn't it? Anyways, its worked like a charm ever since... kinda tricky to find the port, but its down there - strong flashlight helped...

Thanks Phil. So, did you just use one whole can, or did you add slowly until you got a certain temperature difference from ambient?

Kind of both buddy. Buddy of mine was n the can, (not literally ) and I was inside with the blower on hi - kept adding till it was chilly-cold, but it took the whole can. Apparently you don't wanna overfill, but in this case a can was about right.

One month later and it's finally hot enough to get me to go outside and do this. Found a sight glass under the intercooler intake, and found a port on the top of the compressor. The port has a black cap and an "S" stamped on it. I'm guessing since this is on the top, that it's not the right port. Can't find a blue-capped port anywhere.

Do I have the right one? Where do I need to look?

Little more flashlight work and there is a vertical port on top of the compressor. The "S" port I described earlier is horizontal.

So, I hooked her all up and it's very slow going! Idled for 30 minutes and the first can has not been completely taken in yet. I do see some bubbles in the glass. No change in cooling performance.

And I have AC!!!

Gave all the connections a bit of a snug-up. The R12-R134 adapter had a good 1/2 turn left in it using my pliers and that seemed to do the trick.

Good info. Thanks for sharing. I'd prefer that my A/C works off the boat, but if it doesn't, I've got this thread to come back to!
