Hello all, been a while. I am resurrecting my trooper for a trip across the states. She's running OK after sitting for a while starts up fine, idles fine, but when I go to accelerate for the first time (like after I take my foot off the pedal, then press again) it gives me like a hiccup then goes. If I press the pedal down very slowly it seems to rev up fine.

Just curious if anyone has any quick idea I can check out before my trip.

Thanks.

1991 Trooper 3.4L engine, 4.3L throttle, Standard Tranny.

Does it feel like it's going to run out of gas?

Could be a sticky EGR...might not set a code. Try working the EGR valve around with your finger. Does it only do it on the first acceleration, or intermittently?

remove, clean, lubricate, and reinstall IAC motor... go through the reset procedure (do a search on the forum)
A slow IAC will cause a stutter.

check smoothness (impedance) of TPS sweep. calibrate using the oblong mount holes for 0.5v at closed throttle.
A dead spot will cause a stutter.

inspect injector spray pattern. a dripping injector will cause a pool, which will cause a stutter smile

Thanks for the ideas, unfortionetly It was my own fault. It looks like the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) was unplugged. She sounds a lot better now. Thanks again for the help.
