Well I was about 15 miles into my commute from odu going about 75 on the interstate when my front left hub made a very loud squealing sound for about 1.5 seconds. After that everything seemed normal. When I got home I did a quick inspection and didn't really come up w/ much since I don't have the time to take everything apart right now.

My first thoughts were that I spun a wheel bearing, but normally they make a low growling sound and you get a vibration when they go out. Although my last one grenaded and made a harsh metal-to-metal scraping sound due to water and mud getting in the hub. What do you guys think?

Wheelbearing is my bet. I've killed many and they always seem to make a different noise each time.. f'in things. I assume your hubs were unlocked right? If not then it coulda been spindle bushing.

Or, maybe your brake pad caught the rotor funny? Idk theres not a whole lotta things that'll make that noise.

I'd jack up the front and spin the wheel by hand. A bad wheel bearing will grumble or feel grimy. If its a bad wheel bearing, you'll wanna fix it before you drive it again or you'll destroy your spindle.

Small rock or debris got caught between the pad and rotor, it will make a nasty sound!!!!

hopefully it was just a rock, b/c i hate doing wheel bearings. it's just so messy! haha i know i'm a girl when it comes to stuff like that. whatever it was, it was freakin' loud and sounded horrible. i'll take it apart next week when finals are over to see what's up. i'll be driving the integra until then just to be precautious though.
