I would suggest making time to read through the "Tech" and "Archives" sections. There is also a "search" function that will help you find articles that will answer many of your questions. You'll be a pro in no time if you make time. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Ditto. Every bit of what you're asking and much more has been written-up many times before. Use the search function and you will get your answers.

Examples found on search:

Body lift

Adjusting t-bars (shows 1995 model, but still applicable)

Gen II UCAs

Extended shackles (use new bushings for the front shackles of an 83-85 Toyota 4x4 pickup and shave the outsides of the bushings down slightly)

Add-a-Leafs

Wow, you guys have some pretty sweet Monteros. On Don's fitment chart he spec'd 15x8 wheels with a -30mm offset but I'm looking at buying 15x8 wheels with a -12mm offset (I think that's about a 3/4" difference). Is that going to be a big deal with 33's on a stock suspension with no lift or would you recommend 32's? I'm worried since the offset brings the tire in more that I might get some rubbing. Advice?

Don's chart is not fitment but rather camparo. So in reality -12 would be much better choice then -30, actually I would advise to stay as close to 0 offset for 33 as possible

Sc0rp10n,

Just curious which fender flares you're using?

91Montero,

Did you figure out what combo you're doing with? If you want, I can post up a recent pic of my 89 with 33x12.5x15 MT KM's, 2" body lift and 1.5" suspension lift (torque'd the torsion bars and used gen II coils).
