Did you get a new alt from Isuzu, or one of the "new" (rebuilt) ones from a chain parts store? The chain store alts don't have the best reputation. You'd be much better off having your original alt rebuilt by an actual auto electric place if there is one in your area. Have the one you just put in tested. The chance a random short developed between the time you took out the old alt and put in the new one is slim.
