That really looks like the same housing on my rig. My starter is on the driver side too. I looked at the pictures on acy76s' page and my gas engine, case definitely doesn't look like his. I have the skills to do this I just dont know the troopers well enough to plop down $2K and risk a mistake. If I take some pictures and post links to them would someone be willing to help me figure out what it is I really have and what will work for me? I bought this Trooper at an impound auction so I really dont know any of the history, it may be a Frankenstein creation for all I know.
