Getting the Wheeling Fever

This past weekend I swapped out my 258 for a 360. I have a few questions about connecting it.
1.) Can I use my weber carb that was on my 258? I assume it is a 32/36 DGEV, but am at work so I am not certain. If so, does anyone know where I can get an adaptor plate?
2.) Any tips and warnings on the nutter bypass would be helpful as I will do that in a day or two.
3.) How much of a chance does my T-4 have of lasting until winter when I can change it out.
Thanks for any advice or input.

Since you have added 100 more cubes you prolly will like a larger carb! The tranny should last indefinatly..at least untill you REALLY NEED IT! Joking aside I betcha I could go most anywhere I have ever been with that tranny.. But when you do get to horsing it it will go away with that big engine. Goog Job! No reason to use the 2 barrel carb, switch out to 4 barrel carb or fuel injection and get the most of the new engine! Quick question on the conversion, how painful was it any helpful hints as I am helping a friend do the swap with scrambler this summer?

The t4 will last till the first accidental side step of the clutch or if you baby it will last a few hundred miles. They are about the last trans I'd put behind a torquey v8.
Pukejo or a T5 are just as bad.
Tiny webber on a 360? Not so much. MC2300 2bbl minimum, new intake and q jet or better EFI.
Call Mitch at RMH he builds and ships t18 trannies anywhere, best prices and lifetime warranty.303-808-1268

This was the first time I attempted anything having to do with changing the engine or transmission and I have to say the install went pretty slick. If you have some experience and are mechanically inclined you should be able to handle it without trouble. I spent Friday night picking up the donor jeep and ripping all of the connections off of it. On Saturday I removed the engines and refinished/painted the 360 and by Sunday night had the front end and driveline hooked back up. If I were to do it again, I would have the old engine out and vehicle ready to accept the V8 the week before I went for the install. If you arenÆt going to be doing this for a while, I took pictures of the entire process and am planning on doing a write-up in the near future. I can let you know when I get it done.

Big Jim, Do you know of a good write up on how to bypass the computer for the 360 swap? All I have been able to find is the ôNutter Bypassö for 258-258. My distributor has just one black wire leaving it with a connection that splits it into a blue wire and a yellow wire. All of the write-ups I have found are for distributors with three wires, an orange, a violet and a black wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Under the cap...What is under there. I think you have a condensor and points in that dist. If so you will NOT use the purple and orange wire. Look at it and describe the contents... Or give us a picture looking down on the inside. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />
