Getting the Wheeling Fever
Since i put A rear locker not (lsd) ive had a leak at the rear transfer case seal Iv;e tried 4 differnt seals but they all leak!!!
Is the drive shaft longer for the lockers ?
It looks like it needs to be.
there is no wear in the rear output shaft bearing or the extension housing bushing.
Has anyone experienced this before? 1990 LWB 5SP 3.0--LIFTED

Yep. Mine leaks too. Tried a new seal and a second ext. housing.

The good news is it doesn't leak a whole lot.

Drive shaft yoke may be worn. sometimes a groove gets worn into the yoke and will leak even with a new seal. Did you swap in a locker from a gen 2?

This happened to me as well. Finally I noticed that a cap in the center of the driveshaft yoke was missing. Had a piece of metal welded over it and it no longer leaked. To see the cap you can try to look through the ujoint into the back of the yoke. If you can see in the yoke it is missing.

Nope, the plug is intact

there is play in the splines so the yolk moves up & down just a little, causing the seal to leak.

Any suggestions?

if the wear is in the splines of the yoke replace the yoke.
