Getting the Wheeling Fever

"Holy crap!" Took the motor out of my '89 yesterday & unbolted the nice new clutch I put in 2 1/2 years ago.To my surprise all the bolts that bolt the flywheel down were all loose <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> (the truck only ran a month )Thinking it was a bad rod bearing <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />.While taking the bolts out I noticed they were funked .Took the nice new resurfaced flywheel off ,it also is funked <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" />Ovaled the 6 bolt holes & tore up the crank surrface on the flywheel <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />. So when I was putting the tranny & trans case & buttoned up everything I went back to the tailgate there it was,the backing plate that bolts up to the block! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> Man did I feel like a dumb <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" />.So when I got it tore back down again I DID NOT reapply the LOCTIGHT to the bolts <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" /> So now you know the rest of the story!"Bad Quinn very bad <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />shame on me"! Well, could of been worse <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> Any body else do somthing like this & have the same thing happen?

Post some pictures, Lets see all this funkage you speak of!
I snapped a auto trans flexplate clean around the center bolt holes on my old honda accord one time.. but that was just from 'mildly abusive driving' <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> At the time I thought I had broke the crankshaft.. In my situation and yours, its good to know it wasn't worse!
