Radiator is done. Still need a fanbut that can wait. Went and bought my d60 yesterday and a inner shaft for my d44 that was broken. I found a guy local that is going to help me set up my gears so I'll be saving money there. I'm going to spool the 60 and probably lunch-box the front. I'm still toying with the idea of a np231/isuzu doubler. I also started trying out some ideas for a air intake. Tell me what you think, you won't hurt my feelings, I'm not sure I like it.

Body Damage is Cool
right idea , but turn it into a snorkle and make it dual purpose.I think it would work out much better that way , and also factor in the cool factor and usefulness of a snorkle for those big river crossings.

I thought abou the snorkel but to be honest I think they are an ugly tree limb anchor. Around here we have more trees than big rivers....well except for recently. I think a boat would be more qualified lately though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />. I don't want the "Ricer" look but I don't want getto either. What do you think, just a cone filter on the end of it? I could bulid a box around it kinda like I did on my 4runner.

I would say just put a cone filter on it and call it good.

Good progress!

Have you considered building up the bottom of the front bulkhead to make up for the cuts you made to clear the radiator?

I'm not sure how critical that lower yoke/beam is to rigidity of the front clip, but I wound up clearancing the radiator side tanks and keeping the bulkhead mostly un-touched. The body mounts connected to the frame may provide enough structure... dunno.

Yeah, I know what your saying, when I was first cutting the core support to fit the radiator it took forever cause I would cut/fit/cut/fit. I only cut what I had to. It is still very rigid. I'll keep my eyes on it though and if I have too I can add some beef to it down the road. I have noticed one obvious thing on this Isuzu that you don't see on many other vehices. It is way over built in some areas. Another example is the upper control arms, they were double wall in some places, a real PITA to cut.

I too like the alt up at the top. I am looking into building some brackets for my rig to place it up top. don't know if it will work though.

Yeah it's nice, fortunately Chevy put all the alts on older motors on top. I think they started putting them down low like everyone else when the LSx motors came out. I've got a lot of room next to and under my A/C compressor where I thought about putting a York comp for OBA. The bracket may be a little tough to build because the factory accessory bracket is cast aluminum and is full of webbing, no flat surfaces.

If it's any consolation, here in MN one of the first things to rot away is that radiator support. On my gas '88, it's completely rotted in half with no noticeable change to the surrounding bodywork. I think it will be fine.
