This morning on the way to breakfast with my wife the Sportage stoped running as if I had turned off the inginition and then started running again several times in the 1.5 miles to the restaurant. After we came out from eating the engine would turn over but not fire. I thought the fuel pump had died. I checked the fuse and waited for day-light. I pulled the Fuel-Pump Relay and found a small spot of greed corrision on one of the blades. I switched the two relays in the terminal block and she started right up.
We have had a lot of rain here in central Oklahoma in the last few weeks and it appears that the moisture was enough to cause the failure.
When I got to work I removed both relays from the fuse block under the hood and tightned the terminals on the relays and qalso took the relays apart and inspected them. I foun a little corrision on the inside of the fuel-pump relay.
I cleaned up every thing and re-assembled it and every thing seems fine now. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
