I have a 1985 truck and the knucle is leaking fluid. What type of lube do I need to use and how easy/hard is it to replace the seal on the back side of this knuckle. Thanks for any help you can give me.


It is not the seal on the back of the knuckle that is leaking. It is the axle seal behind the Birfield that is leaking. It is leaking gear oil from the third member washing the grease out of the birfield draining out the felt seal in the back of the knuckle.Prepare yourself for a very, very messy job. Lots of rags and brake clean.
