so i have finally run in to another problem with the toy.
i have a 96 or 97 taco rear axle with a cheap lockright and 4.10s. well the wheel bearings are beyond roached, which replacing those is no biggie. what i am wondering is before i drop a bill to fix those what axle is stronger in the end?

now i know the tacoma has a fully caged main bearings in the third, but a weaker housing at the neck down, were they get the 3" wider. but i have been talking to Sky and he is starting to belive that the ifs is stronger as he has been dealing with alot of problems with the tacoma rears once you gear and lock them. in fact he had a customer that just swaped his tacoma rear for a IFS rear.

that and the gears and spool are cheaper for the IFS rear to boot. so im stuck...do i fix the tacoma rear and pay the extra for gears and truss the housing or go back to what would be a stock rear end and put the gears and spool in that?

Zuk....?
