It will usually get hard to steer at about the same time you see fluid leaking out. Shortly afterward the PS pump starts cavatating and making noise. Oddly I can here the sound in my head but can't describe it!

What happens when they get old and wear out? Dunno, never had one get that far <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I guess they would get loose or something.
