Hey Guys____ IÆm want to take out the stock gas tank (not sure of capacity, maybe 14-17 gals, not sure) on my stock ô85 22RE 4 Runner and replace it with a larger capacity maybe 22-25 gals. I want to put it where the spare tire is presently, and build a tire rack on rear bumper. My idea is to build an expedition rig with a longer range between gas stops. Has anyone embarked on a similar project? ? If so please enlighten me on what worked for you, or ANY ideas that you heard or read have worked. ___THANKS BAYRUNNER

Northwest Metal Products (in OR) makes the tanks NWOR and Downey sell. Link on the web page below: - http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/index.shtml#VendorLinksOtherwise, JC Whitney used to carry some larger gas tanks for certain applications.

If you want a lot of capacity, I'd think you'd want to retain the OE tank and just add others, no?

throw a 22+ gallon tank from an E150 ford van behind the rear axle... ErikB and Harry have done it.

Hey bkg____ I want to remove stock tank, for more clearance (flat belly). Then put a larger tank 20-25 gal., were the spare tire is behind rear axle, and move spare tire to rear bumper. Anyway if you have any more details (year, model etc)I would GREATLY appreciate it. ___THANKS BAYRUNNER
