There are actually 4 types of bulbs.....small white and small green, and large white and large green.

You are correct, the green lights (small & large) all go to light the dash. And, the white lights go to the warning (idiot) lights and the turn signals.

The lights themselves are very easy to replace: (1)Remove the lower pannel on the dash (3 screws and 1 10-mm bolt...I think)(and the gas door and hood releases). (2) remove the upper dash panel (the black one - 1 screw under the AC face plate. That just pulls off). (3) Remove the 4 screws holding in the gauge cluster and unplug the 4 wire plugs in the back....and it's out. The light sockets just unscrew from the back and the bulbs pull out of the sockets...

I can do the whoel operation and re-install everything in about 1/2 an hour.
