Getting the Wheeling Fever
Very cool, I've caught three of our four kids at home. Am trying to convince my wife to let me be the midwife on this one but I don't think she'll go for it. Perhaps I'll take her for a drive smile

Just an update... got some coil helper springs on and it makes a big difference. Not super huge but definitely MUCH better. Now I need to work the shock side of things I think.

Body Damage is Cool
I put a set of Old Man Emu nitro shocks on my 88 4Runner and they really helped on washboard.
I was worried at first when they felt stiff but after 100 miles they really softened up and felt awsome every trip after that.
My truck used to bounce so bad in the rear is would start to spin out on washboard corners at 10 mph.

Any other things to consider?

Grease your leaf springs. You'll likely be amazed at the ride difference.

Just jack the truck up from the frame so the leaf opens up as much as possible. Spray some white lith grease, or some other similar lubricant in between the leaves. Do the same on the other side.

Greasing the springs sounds like a good idea, I'll do that.

I don't think I'll mess with shocks. My next iteration is to put on my new 33" wheels/tires and my 5.29 gears. Then I might put on my front mid travel kit next with Chevy rear springs. We'll see. I might take this 4Runner to the Baja 1000 this year to help chase since I don't think I'll have the other one finished in time.

I *really* love this automatic transmission on the trails around here. My dad was right! Back in his day (50s) he was a N ID logger and use to do hill climbs and what not. Growing up he always would tell me to buy an automatic because they were so much better than a manual for steep climbs. That and *never* buy a Ford smile
